Recipe of the Day

Apple and raisin muffins

Here at Fine to Dine, health is important to us (although it may be hard to believe). So sometimes, we have to give up a chocolate infused, sugar coated or caramel stuffed recipes and try out desserts that are more heart healthy. So with this in mind, I am sharing with you my favourite healthy muffin recipe that's filled with yummy fruits.

The recipe can be found here. It contains no butter and is loaded with nutrient dense apples and raisins. This fibre filled treat is sure to be a hit in you household, and I can assure you that both kids and adults will enjoy them. To make this recipe even more health conscious I replaced the buttermilk with ordinary lite cows milk and the caster sugar with brown sugar and it still turned out perfectly.

Spanish Doughnuts!

Hello food lovers!

It's midday, the awkward time between breakfast and lunch.. you're getting peckish and you feel like something sweet. You feel like Spanish Doughnuts.

Spanish Doughnuts can be found in Macquarie Centre, conveniently located within a 2 minute walk from Macquarie University and train station. They serve a range of different foods and beverages including sweet and savory churros, hotdogs, coffee, hot chocolate and frozen drinks.

On my visit I tried the strawberry cheesecake churro and the cinnamon dusted long stick churros with melted chocolate dipping sauce. They were both delicious in their own unique way. The strawberry cheesecake churro was a cold churro stuffed with a smooth, sweet strawberry cream-cheese filling and covered in rich white chocolate and rainbow sprinkles.

The long stick churros were warm and freshly made on order. The were golden and crispy on the outside and warm and doughy on the inside. The melted pot of milk chocolate was deliciously creamy and went beautifully with the churro. It was definitely hard not going back for seconds.

Random recipe!

Hey there my favorite food lovers!

So it's early Sunday morning and your tummy is rumbling, yep I know the feeling! You say you want a tasty breaky to keep you going but you don't want to spend ages in the kitchen fiddling with too many ingredients and utensils?
I've got you covered :)

My simple yet delicious breakfast idea is a Fresh Haloumi and Tomato Open Grill!

What you'll need:
Half a tomato, sliced
25g stringed haloumi cheese
A large white hamburger bun sliced open

Method:
1. Preheat your oven 250 degrees, and turn on the grill setting
2. Cover the inner side of the bun with the haloumi
3. Place the tomato slices on top and season with cracked pepper
4. Grill for 5-10 minutes or until cheese is melted. Serve immediately.

I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as me and my family do. It is simple, satisfying and very tasty.

Sapore

This restaurant is in Leichardt, the Australian version of Italy! The Italian Forum is definitely a place everyone should consider going to for a nice dinner and maybe invite a special someone. :)

Although plates got a bit pricey, the food quality and quantity were absolute perfection making them worth the price!

We were welcomed and served by very friendly staff, although the restaurant was filled with people (literally did not see one empty table-good sign) they still managed to smile and check up on us. Now the most important part, the FOOD. Well presented and delicious. Would've licked the plate clean but had to remember our manners! I ordered the popular chicken fungi, we also had a vegetarian spaghetti aglio and a chicken ripieno. Check out some photos below!

Sapore definitely has the Fine to Dine tick of Approval!

House of Thai

Hey there Food Lovers!

Today I dined out at the lovely House of Thai in Bankstown. I must admit that I eat at this restaurant regularly, and I am a big fan of their authentic Thai dishes.

The dim lighting and dark furnishings give the space a warm, cozy feel and the cushioned booths really make you feel at home.

The food is is quite affordable with entrees starting and $1.50 and mains ranging from $9-$25. You definitely get more than what you pay for as the servings are very generous and meals arrive swiftly. I also can't go without mentioning that the food is always delicious, fresh and satisfying.
